A Child's View Enrichment House Montessori Preschool

a place to learn and grow…

image-asset (3).jpeg

We opened our home in 2005 to provide our community with a loving and nurturing home-based Montessori preschool. We believe in Maria Montessori's philosophy of recognizing that children learn best in an environment that fosters their freedom to learn and grow. With a teacher to student ratio of 3 to 15, each child receives the personal attention and attentive guidance they need. Our teachers are dedicated to providing an atmosphere that inspires a child's natural curiosity and independence. We are a small and supportive community of children, parents, and teachers. We recognize the different learning styles that suit each child and support the diversity in our community. Our goal is to teach each child to care for themselves, each other and the environment in a peaceful way.

Our language program begins with letter and sound exercises. With sand paper letters, object identification, and other related activities, your child will begin their reading readiness skills. This will lay the foundation for the future of your confident reader. A combination of fine motor and drawing exercises will strengthen their handwriting skills. As your child progresses we will continue to implement an individual program to match their needs.

Morning Program

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

For children ages 2-6

Families have the option of enrolling 1-5 days to meet their child's individual needs. Preschool is a place for children to develop a love of learning and self confidence in the classroom. Our 4 hour program allows our children to do this in a fun, loving home with teachers who foster their creativity and independence.

We begin our day with the convenience of a car drop off service. After all of the children arrive, we enjoy indoor/outdoor recess. This allows the children to acclimate to the classroom and our community. We gather for line time to begin each morning. This gives us the opportunity to introduce monthly themes, music, work on our calendar, and daily jobs. After a group snack, our three teachers begin hands on lessons in small groups. This includes activities designed to meet each child's individual needs and abilities. After the children have had a chance to choose their work independently, we have a second line time. This may include a language lesson, story, music, and a short rest before lunch. After a nutritious lunch, we gather on the rug and make preparations to end our day together.

Afternoon Enrichment Program

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

For Pre-K students ages 4-6

Our Enrichment Program offers our Pre-K students an opportunity to prepare for Kindergarten in a fun, small group setting. We start each afternoon with a nutritious snack and story time. During each Enrichment class, we engage the children in activities that target beginning reading, phonics, sight word recognition, blends and word families. Through games and thoughtful lessons, the children begin to explore Mathematical concepts such as money, time, addition, subtraction, measurement and place order. In this small group setting, the teachers and students have an additional opportunity to promote and practice self discipline and independent learning.

A Child's View Enrichment House is a state licensed preschool and daycare facility.

I am the proud owner of a Child's View Enrichment House. My husband Tony and I have two amazing daughters. Alexandra is at Utah State, Working on her PHD degree in Geology. My daughter Annamarie graduated from North Central College and is working as a graphic designer for a financial corporation in Chicago.

I discovered the Montessori teaching method while looking for preschools for my daughter Alex. I fell in love with the Montessori philosophy and gained experience in the classroom while working in my daughter's Montessori school for five years. After finishing my Montessori teacher training, I opened my home preschool in 2005 and have been honored to teach and direct A Child's View Enrichment House for the last 18 years. I have always worked with children in one capacity or another as a nanny, tutor, volunteer and as an educator. I continue to take classes in early childhood education to further my love of teaching and working with children.
